Back from buying trip

Well its nice to be back home and sleeping in my own bed again.
We had a wonderful trip and so interesting. Ive just brought back with me a hundred new ideas for colours, designs and combinations. Its nice to have had a fresh breeze blow through the thought processes.
I see the hair style for the young guys is a kind of long floppy mohawk on top with shaved sides of the head. It can look quite nice on some. The girls are all still wearing leggings and tights with just about anything.  Its good that everyone is suiting themselves these days and there are no set fashions.
I think that last years dress fashion with short front hem and long droopy back hem is over and done with and really didnt look good on anyone.
Im looking forward to using my new fabrics and watch this space for the first of the designs.
In South Africa we are at the last quarter of summer and only about another few weeks of swimming weather before it starts to get chilly.   My thoughts turn to our winter designs and look forward to those and something fresh but classic in style.
Happy everything to all of you and enjoy every day!!!

Textiles and our clothing choices

Our choice of clothing that we wear daily,   shows the world our opinion of ourselves and the people we want to interact with.   Some people know what they like in the way of style, colour and have the confidence to choose and be quite happy with the outcome.  Others seek approval from friends, spouses or other customers in the shop and don t quite know the image they want to project or feel comfortable in.    I see this every day and can see that the battle raging in their hearts is that they really want the bright red and purple kaftan, but the society that they live in would disapprove and so they choose a safe brown one instead. My advice is of course, to go with your heart. Dont buy too tight.  A little colour in your world is good for you!! and most of all - be comfortable in your clothing whatever the style or shape because its that confidence and comfort that carry through and show the world that you like yourself just the way you are!! Take care!

Trip to find more beautiful fabrics

The use of fabrics in design are endlessly exciting.   I just love the use of the mixed colours and textures and from a pile of offcuts a surprising colour combination just jumps out as beautiful.
I will be going on a buying trip next week in search of new and lovely fabrics for the new season and will keep you posted on what is new.  Happy happy.
